Preliminary Water pipe works

This morning I had a meeting with the plumber, Mr. Ah Kuang at 9am at the site. Apparently his name is similar with my electrician's name, how coincidence. We were there to discuss about the position of the water pipes and also the water heaters and I also managed to show him some of the taps that we bought from Brisbane. Overall, I am satisfy with the progress of the construction. Thanks to the cloudy weather, which made it colder than usual.

Window Glass for Syafi and Safiya's new house

Yesterday at the site, I managed to get the latest sample of the window glass from the 'window man' who were there to install the window frame. The glass this time is very beautiful indeed, with reflective cover and golden in colour, truly a winner for Syafi and Safiya's new house. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the queen of the house (Syafi and Safiya's Mummy) and hopefully I may get the answer soon.

This morning after completing some errands at the Land Transport Department at Jangsak and also at the Printing Department in Airport Lama, I dropped by at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah building at BSB to witness a car show. I was particularly interested to see the new H1 van from Hyundai to look at it up close. However, I was a bit disappointed as the leg space at the back of the car is is not as spacious as I expected. This is due to the fact that the car seat at the rear is fixed (cannot be adjusted).

Nevertheless, I managed to take some shot of the cars and Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin which is around 80% complete in its refurbishments work that had started early this year.

The Masjid (mosque) looks very beautiful from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah building.

Featuring H1 from Hyundai which cost $45K, equipped with a diesel engine. It's a nine seater. I'm thinking of getting a van for the purpose of sending Syafi and Safiya to school by next year or perhaps the year after. I may still have to look for some other option.

May be the Porsche Cayenne at $168K? ... but I already have a four wheel drive.

Ford S-Max V6 that costs $35K. The sporty look is very impressive but the space is a no go.

The new Honda Stream, a bit smaller than the Odyssey model, and costs around $33-35K.

More Window Frames

After work, I stopped by at the site for a quick peek and very please with the progress. The window frame for most of the window had been installed except for the window in the dining hall and the aluminium door frame leading to the balcony. The plastering work and roof truss were also in full swing. Just take a look at the pictures below...

The work progress for the pass couple of days was very encouraging. The roof truss has almost taken its shape and the wall plastering work is almost done except for the area that hasn't got the window frame. When I called Mr A-Ting or Mr Teo (the window man) this evening, he informed me that they will put on the rest of the window frame by tomorrow. He also going to show me the sample of the window that I requested, which is the clear reflective glass window rather than the initial glass window quoted in the contract i.e. tinted bronze glass window. I am still waiting for the quotation from him regarding the additional cost that I need to pay.

In the afternoon after work, I stopped by at the Jerudong fish market to get some fish and prawns for the workers. The roof truss has taken its shape and I can see that the workers had been working quite hard in plastering the wall and also installing electrical wiring too. So far so good...
