Installation of Telbru line

After the Friday prayer, I went to the site to witness the work carried out by the Telbru contractors to install the house telephone line. Since I requested for the telephone cable to be concealed, the work did not come cheap. I had to pay $600 for the job.

This afternoon, I met Mr. Ah Ting (Ah Teo) the window man for the discussion regarding the additional cost of the window for using the golden reflective glass. He is yet to calculate exactly the total area of the window and will advise Mr. Lai (my architect) the outcome soon. Thanks Ah Ting for coming to see me.

Since today was the construction worker's day off, a couple of the workers seen having a hair cut at the side of the house.

More progress in wiring and plastering works

With an extra pair of helping hands, the wiring works is really progressing. By today, the first floor is completely "wired". As yesterday, plastering works are also taking action. I'm actually quite impressed with the workers, especially since most of them are fasting in conjunction with Ramadan. It's good that tomorrow is their pay day, and they get the day off.

Building construction in Brisbane

Ever since we arrive in Brisbane, one of the things we noticed is the advanced technology used in any works, such as construction, grass trimming, and even tree logging. You can just imagine how well-prepared they are when soon after they cut down a tree, the log goes straight into a grinder to produce small pieces of wood, and would later be used in landscape works. Isn't that convenient?

With building construction, the site has all the necessary amenities: water cooler for drinking, restroom that leads straight to the underground sewerage, proper waste disposal bins and not to mention all the advanced equipments used in the day-to-day works.

Heheehe.. so just to share, here are some pictures that might interest you..

Wiring works in progress

Today, the electricians were busy with the wiring works at the site. I'm really glad to see the progress that they made, where the works on the first floor is about 90% complete, although there are definitely heaps of wires to connect. From what I gathered from them, the works will continue again tomorrow. Thanks to Peter and his helper, Kukuh.

At the same time, other workers continued to smoothen up the cement underneath the concrete gutter. Looks really nice!

Plastering the Concrete Gutter

Today, the workers started their plastering work on the concrete gutter. Other works i.e. plastering the wall inside the Formal Living and Dining as well as the roof truss still continue.

Progress a day before Ramadhan

1st September 2008

I went to the site on the day before Ramadhan start. Overall the progress is very promising as more woods were added at the roof truss and the plastering work was also near completion. Enjoy the pics...

A Visit to House of Gembo...

At noon, I went to TAIB Bank at Pandan to authorize the claim made by my contractor. Before going back to the office, I went for a quick visit to House of Gembo for getting a closer look at the infamous water tank at the back of the house. Thanks Gembo for the hospitality...
